Welcome to Balclutha Primary

We are a Year 1-8 primary school with a proud history of providing quality education for the students of Balclutha and South Otago for over 150 years.
Our students enjoy our great ‘family’ atmosphere and are provided with a variety of rich learning opportunities that enable them to develop the creativity, resilience and life skills needed to become effective members of our wider community.
We have excellent resources and significant student supports available.  Alongside our high quality teaching team, we have a great team of teacher aides and specialist teachers onsite to ensure classroom programmes are well supported and every learner has the tools they need to reach their full potential.
We have a wonderful playground area comprised of several playing areas, a large turf area, grass fields and a number of mature trees that our students love to climb. Across the street, we have the Balclutha sports fields and the Cross Recreation Centre which we access for a variety of purposes throughout the year.
Balclutha Primary School is a great place to learn and we look forward to sharing our school with you.
